Trustworthy partners

We are particularly concerned about protecting the confidentiality of the data of users of the Careers and Online Appraisal Request page. For this reason, although the servers that host the portal identify the Internet Protocol (IP) address of your connection, the information transmitted between computers to conduct site operations does not reveal your identity. Furthermore, in the conduct of site operations, security measures are taken to ensure, at all times, the confidentiality of personal data collected through the various functionalities offered when using the portal.

The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to provide information about our practices regarding personal information collected through this site.

Scope of the policy

This policy applies only to this site and takes into account the requirements of the Act respecting access to documents held by public bodies and the protection of personal information (chapter A-2.1), hereinafter the “Access Act”, and those of any other applicable legislation.

Data exchanged automatically

The servers that host our sites identify the Internet address (IP) of your connection so that data can be exchanged between our servers and your computer. No information that could identify you is directly associated with your IP address. However, identification is possible with the help of your supplier. The IP address is considered personal information, since it is an identifier.

When you access this site, information is automatically exchanged between your computer and our server without you having to intervene. The information exchanged is as follows:

  1. Your Internet provider’s domain name and your IP address. As a general rule, an IP address is a unique number assigned to you by your ISP, enabling you to connect to the Internet and route information intended for you. This unique number is automatically logged by the Web servers;
  2. Your browser type and operating system;
  3. The date and time you access our site;
  4. Which pages you visit and for how long;
  5. If you access our site from another site, the address of the latter (referring site).

This exchange of information is required by the technological demands inherent in Internet browsing. The Secretariat and the Centre keep the necessary information for statistical purposes, in particular to record the number of visitors, the most frequently visited pages, the technology used by visitors, the referring sites and the country of origin of Internet users. This information is not used to compile, communicate or exchange lists of users and cannot be communicated to anyone without the consent of the person concerned.

Use of cookies

Cookies are small text files that are downloaded to a visitor’s hard drive when certain Web pages are consulted. These cookies do not collect any personal information about the visitor. Our servers use these cookies to personalize the display of Career Portal pages and to collect certain site usage statistics. The portal does not place any permanent cookies on visitors’ hard drives. However, when a temporary cookie is required for browsing, this file is written to RAM and automatically deleted when the visitor terminates his/her Internet session.

You can set your browser to block cookies at any time. However, this action may deprive you of certain functions offered on the site.

If you use a computer in a public place, or share a computer with other users, be sure to erase the traces of your browsing stored in the history before ending each session.

Personal information

The personal information covered by this policy is necessary for us to respond to your requests. Failure to provide this information may prevent proper processing of a request. Only authorized staff members have access to this information. This information may also be communicated to other persons or organizations, but only in the cases provided for in the Access Act. The Access Act allows you to consult your information and have it corrected. Requests for rectification should be sent by e-mail to [email protected].

Personal information sent by e-mail

When you contact us by e-mail, you must provide your name and e-mail address and write your message in the spaces provided on the “Contact us” page. Staff members treat these digital messages with the same concern for confidentiality as they do paper and/or telephone correspondence.

No additional personal information should be included in your e-mail messages. In the event that personal information is transmitted, it will not be reproduced in the e-mail response.

If you choose to voluntarily transmit personal or confidential information by e-mail or by means of an unsecured digital form, we cannot guarantee the protection, integrity or confidentiality of the information transmitted.

When personal information is transmitted, it is retained only as long as is necessary for the performance of our mandate. Alternatively, the information transmitted can be used for the sole purpose of replying to a message and inviting the visitor to use another mode of communication. This information will then be destroyed.
